Fenix Fayetteville will present a visual and performing arts festival at The Fenix Gallery, 16 W Center St. on the Fayetteville Square. Fenix will partner with the Walton Art Center in bringing a community-based artist perspective to the theme of the 2019 Artosphere. Programming includes art exhibition and installations; staged theatre readings; spoken word; music ensembles and community education workshops. The pinnacle project of the festival is the live painting of a revolutionary tridimensional mural based on a technique called anamorphosis. In addition to the live painting event, the mural will permanently transform the space and a have lasting presence and impact. This will attract visitors and locals and add value to the square as an ongoing destination. The Fenix Artist Collective represents 40 professional visual artists and five performing arts organization members. The following key leaders comprise the curatorial panel for the festival; Jeanne Parham, Steven Schneider, Laurie Foster, Heather Younger Morton, Octavio Logo, JoAnn Kaminsky, Laura Shatkus, Jeannine Wagar, Matt Henriksen, and Rob Gordon.
