Event Description

Students from the uttermost parts of the world cross many borders to make the U of A their destination for a quality education. Razorback Country becomes an educational mecca to nearly 1,500 international students from 120 countries. Join this class and learn the diversified cultures of these students and their dreams for a future after life as a Razorback. The campus and the northwest Arkansas community work to create a welcoming atmosphere, and to provide a variety of resources to aid in the transitions from these varied cultures. Through organizations, personal outreach, and home-away-from-home activities, students learn about, and are made to feel a part of American culture. Dr. Cox will incorporate ideas from her teaching experiences in China and Brazil. She will also share ideas gleaned from providing home sanctuaries for international students attending schools and universities on U. S. soil.
