Event Description

Spend time with some favorite works of art at Crystal Bridges! Join Crystal Bridges staff and volunteer tour guides to engage with the museum's collection in deep and meaningful ways. Each of the three sessions begins with an interactive tour that will encourage conversation among the group about the artworks. Following the tour, participants will engage in facilitated close-looking gallery activities that provide an opportunity to examine a work of art at a deeper level. Participants will walk away with a new understanding of the museum's permanent collection and a toolkit of close-looking activities that they can use when looking at any work of art. Perfect for the avid museum goer or a first time guest! The first session of the course will feature the special exhibition, Crystal Bridges at 10, an immersive exhibition that celebrates the museum's collection and the local community, one decade into the museum's lifetime. The exhibition features 130+ artworks and presents crowd favorites in new ways while lifting up artist voices. The two remaining sessions will explore the museum's permanent collection including a look at Early American, Modern, and Contemporary Art.
