This is the weekly segment called “A-State Connections and Create@State: Making Connections That Count”.  In this segment, we go back to the Create@State virtual symposium in April to hear research from the College of Nursing and Health Professions.  First, is Amber Lea Clements Fore with her presentation “An assessment of knowledge, attitudes, and practices of nicotine use among youth.” 

Craighead County Clerk Kade Holliday is in the Craighead County jail, facing theft of property and abuse of office charges.  In a press release, 2nd Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington says Holliday was arrested Monday morning and state investigators plan to file felony theft charges against him.  Holliday faces “multiple counts of Theft of Property in excess of $25,000 and one count of abuse of office.” There is also a petition to remove Holliday from his office immediately.  Ellington says he received an urgent call to meet with County Judge Marvin Day and wi

This is A-State Connections.  Today, we start the first of a two part interview series of Arkansas State University alumni who went to New York City to help with COVID-19 response.  First, I talked with Mandy Thomas.  Thomas is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists who lives in Sherman, Texas.  She tells about her experience of working in an area that was a hot spot for COVID-19.  I started the interview by asking Thomas to tell a little about herself and how she came to Arkansas State.
