Chocolate’s history chocolate can be traced back to ancient Mesoamerican civilizations, particularly the Olmec, Maya, and Aztec cultures. These civilizations cultivated and consumed cacao beans, the primary ingredient in chocolate. Lia Uribe is the Associate Dean for Arts & Humanities and a professor at the University of Arkansas. She is also the principal bassoonist of the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra.
