Mark Moll, chairman of the University of Arkansas Fort Smith Foundation Board, announces the $10.8 million estate gift before about 100 attendees, including many Honors Program students.

The estate gift by Myles Friedman is the third-largest gift and largest gift from an individual in University of Arkansas-Fort Smith history. Friedman was a longtime Fort Smith resident who passed away in September 2017. The estate gift is expected to bring in $400,000 annually, which is enough to fund 60 full-ride scholarships for UAFS students.
