Stephanie Stodden, Eureka Springs Historical Museum director (left), holds an original photo protrait of "Doc Pearl," who resided in this Victorian home on Spring Street (right).

In the late 19th century, Eureka Springs, a popular health resort, attracted a number of physicians interested in practicing natural healing. Among them was Pearl Hale Tatman, one of the first female physicians to practice in Arkansas. We visit her original home on Spring Street for a check up, then go to the local museum to learn more.
