The Fayetteville City Council has amended an ordinance to remove the registered voter requirement for those serving on some city boards, commissions and committees. The new legislation also permits noncitizens who are legally authorized to live and work in the country to volunteer on these panels.
In a new report, the Arkansas Justice Collective, a nonprofit law firm and advocacy group, claims Fayetteville law officials are not complying with a 2008 city ordinance that makes misdemeanor possession of marijuana a low enforcement priority.
