'Janoska Style' Invigorates Grand Classical Tradition

The esssence of "Janoska style" includes the sounds of Latin, folk, and improvisational jazz expertly fused together together by the Janoska Ensemble, three brothers and one brother-in-law, all classically-trained musicians born and raised in Vienna.

Janoska Style is also the name of the group's dazzling debut on Deutsche Grammaphon, which features fresh takes of Mozart and Bizet alongside original compositions.

Improvisation is the driving force of the ensemble's creative energy, explains bassist Julius Darvas, which makes each concert a highly individual experience.

"Classical music is not always the same," he adds. "This style is our view--our perspective of classical music today."
