Courtesy Ceramics Studio, University of Arkansas

Snag locally made art from University of Arkansas School of Artstudents with two holiday open house sales this weekend.

"At the ceramics sale we'll have a lot of different things ranging from mugs, cups, bowls," explains Mackenzie Turner, a undergaduate ceramics major. "We'll have some sculptural objects and you'll also be able to buy pieces in the main exhibition."

The ceramics sale will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday, Dec. 8, and Sunday Dec. 9, at their studio on Eastern Ave., just off MLK, with printmaking around the corner on Mitchell Street open the same hours.

"We'll have holiday cards, gift wrap, patches and we'll be doing live screen printing at the sale," says Olivia Fredricks, regarding printmaking.

Galleries in downtown Fayetteville will also have wares available for holiday shopping lists. Check out Stage Eighteen and Art Ventures, who each launch new gallery displays for First Thursday on the downtown square.  The Holiday Gift Market inside the Community Creative Center of Walton Arts Center's Nadine Baum Studio is open for the holiday season as well. Also this weekend, the Cattywampus co-op presents events at Fayetteville's Hilton Garden Inn, with a Nerd Prom Friday night and their 2018 Wampus Wonderland Holiday Craft Fair all day Saturday.
