March 12, 2020 3:12 p.m. -- As the COVID-19 outbreak begins to spread in Arkansas, we at KUAF want to assure you that we are committed to bringing you up-to-the-minute, accurate information on a national, regional and local level.
Public radio exists to bring communities together and inform citizens in time of emergency and breaking news. KUAF will carry all breaking news stories as they are covered by NPR. This page will serve as an aggregate of information and you can check this page for updates about local event cancellations or postponements, breaking news and public health information.
Additionally, in the interest of public health and public service, KUAF is altering our on-air fundraiser this spring, directing all donations to www.supportkuaf.com. We will air fundraising messaging from March 30 to April 3, outside of any breaking news coverage, but will not have volunteers or restaurants come to the station.
If you are a non-profit that has had to cancel your fundraising event, please consider contacting Pete Hartman, host of Community Spotlight, as KUAF can help inform our listening audience of the cancellation and continue to educate listeners about the plethora of organizations doing good work in our community.
Our locally-produced, news magazine Ozarks at Large will continue to produce daily programs covering the latest local and regional information regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as other stories, peoples and events in our region.
KUAF’s mission is rooted in public service and it is times like these when public radio is committed to sharing accurate and timely information. Thank you for listening to and supporting your public radio station.
