Trillium Salon Series takes classical music outside the concert hall into intimate venues, this time the KUAF studio itself as we present percussionist Aaron Ragsdale thisFriday, July 22 from 7-9 p.m. In addition to elaborating on why he chose the path of percussion he elaborates on why the instrument family is so well suited for taking classical music into the 21st century.
"What is classical music, what is art music, what's different about it and how does it blur those boundaries," Ragsdale explains. "Unless we're playing transcriptions, we're always playing new music. We tend to be a very forward thinking bunch."
