After meeting in orchestra class in high school, members of the The Accidentals are now leading workshops with students across the country. Workshops and a handful of performances brought the Michigan-based trio back to northwest Arkansas this week. While they were in town, they stopped by the studio to share some of their stories and music.
We recorded a lot of music in 2018 at Ozarks at Large. We recorded so much music that we didn't get a chance to put it all on the air. Today, we hear selections from Kaia Kater, Charley Crockett, The Outliers and Dawson Hollow.
Tyler Jordan and Paige Renee Berry are Austin-based songwriters. Although they both normally perform with full bands, the two recently embarked on tour as a duo, playing mostly house show type concerts. When they were in Fayetteville this month, they stopped by the Firmin-Garner Performance Studio to give us a sampling of their music.
Roots Tour features Asher Perkins on guitar and the brothers Jeffrey and Shaun Essery on banjo and guitar respectively. The band will perform a holiday-themed show Friday at Fenix Gallery in Fayetteville. We talk with the group about their music and about the show.
On today's show, we listen back to some of the musical highlights we've captured during the last half of 2018. We hear performances from Moonsong, Pat Ryan Key, The Vine Brothers, Charley Crockett, Dylan Earl, Jaimee Harris, The Lark and the Loon, The Outliers, and more.
