The Arkansas Repertory Theater, or The Rep as it’s known locally, promises a mix of classic and new productions in its upcoming season.

John Miller-Stephany, The Rep’s artistic director since 2016, said he prioritizes variety when choosing shows.

“I hope that people in our community might be a little more adventurous and get a subscription. It inspires you to see things you may not know, but discovery in the theater is one of the most exciting things. You’ll come to things you might not otherwise see and more often than not, be delighted that you saw them,” said Miller-Stephany.

The 2018-2019 season begins in September with a production of the American classic, “The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams. That will be followed by “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.” A musical adaption of “Little Women” will run through the winter holiday and close out the calendar year.

The comedy, “As You Like It,” by Williams Shakespeare will be the first production of 2019. “Million Dollar Quartet,” featuring the music of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins will run during the spring of 2019. And the theater’s season will close with “Women In Jeopardy!” a comedy by contemporary playwright Wendy MacLeod.
