Scratching the Surface: Islands in the (bubble) stream

Welcome to Scratching the Surface with Caitlin Ahrens, the Pluto Manager at the Center for Space and Planetary Science. In this episode Caitlin breaks down the "magic islands" on Titans lakes.

Titan is Saturn's largest moon and the only other celestial body besides Earth where surface liquid is visible. Multiple satellite images show the islands disappearing and then reappearing on the lakes. The truth of this Houdini act is more than a little fizzy.
