Northwest Arkansas diverted nearly 45,000 tons of waste from landfills in 2022, according to estimates from NWA Recycles.

The Northwest Arkansas Council and NWA Recycles hosted a summit on "Re-Thinking Trash" last week. The event included a pitch competition where new business owners presented an idea or model for reducing waste in order to win $5,000 in prize money.
