Zero Hour Arkansas is a climate justice organization based in Northwest Arkansas that is targeted towards underrepresented youth. The group is a chapter of the national movement ‘This is Zero Hour’, which originated in 2017. This January marks one full year since the first edition of Roots Magazine, Zero Hour Arkansas’ environmental justice zine. But what is a zine? And why is this organization creating one?

A litter abatement program supported by the city of Fayetteville has resulted in 100 tons of litter being picked up this year. The program is called Pick Me Up and employs Fayetteville residents who are unhoused and underserved to pick up litter and debris along trails and homeless campsites throughout town. OAL’s Jack Travis takes us to the scene.

The Momentary, an extension of Crystal Bridges of American Art, recently completed an update to its spaces. This weekend, curators unveiled its latest exhibition, “Enduring Amazon: Life and Afterlife in the Amazon Rainforest,” as part of the remodel.
