In preparation for FORMAT Festival, KUAF reporter Sophia Nourani spoke with the legendary anonymous art collective, the Guerrilla Girls. Formed in 1985, the Guerrilla Girls are a group of feminist, female artists whose goal is to fight racism and sexism within the art world with their projects. Formed in South Central Los Angeles in 1989, and best known for their hit song, 'Passin' me By', from their album Bizarre Ride II, the group will be performing in Arkansas for the first time at FORMAT this weekend.

Format Festival is entering its second year, and has been coined ‘the art world’s Woodstock.’ It will be held in Bentonville, Arkansas this upcoming weekend. From September 22 to September 24 attendees can view art and live music from a variety of creatives.
