Last month, the Buffalo National River Park Service announced the first artist in its revamped artist-in-residence program. Samuel Binns, a poet in the Masters of Fine Arts program at the University of Arkansas, will contribute artwork and creative projects in exchange for three weeks of housing at the park in Jasper.

A statewide discussion about art, culture and life in Arkansas will take place in Fayetteville Oct. 6 through 8. We find out more about ArtLinks 2019.

University of Arkansas

The University of Arkansas recently welcomed Gerry Snyder as the School of Art's first ever executive director. He will play an instrumental role in cultivating the newly minted School of Art's role at the university and beyond following the $120 million gift from the the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation and $40 million gift from the Windgate Foundation to develop an art and design district.

Artists in the six-state region engaged in social and civic change are invited to apply for $20,000 project grants under a Mid-America Arts Alliance pilot program called Interchange.
