They are providing a unique opportunity for Northwest Arkansas to support and honor Black voices and contributions in Northwest Arkansas and enjoy a night of community and fun Feb. 17-18, 2023.

Between the late 1800s through the 1970s, thousands of towns deemed themselves sundown towns to drive out Black populations from living in them, including Springdale. Trey Carlisle and Todd Mack are the co-creators of the Black Legacy Project, and came to discuss the project’s goals and how the roundtable impacted community members.

The inaugual Arkansas Black Music Expo is Friday and Saturday at the Jones Center in Springdale. Jazz, gospel, blues, rock and marching band will be showcased. Plus food and bouncy houses!
