Art for a New Understanding: Native Voices, 1950s to Now is a new exhibition showcasing the work of contemporary Native American artists. The exhibit is on view at Crystal Bridges Oct. 6 to Jan. 7 and admission is free.

Georgia O’Keeffe is known for her paintings of enormous flowers, landscapes, feminine forms and still lifes. Her work continues to influence the creations of modern-day artists. Paintings and sculptures by O’Keeffe and contemporary artists will be on display at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art May 26 through Sept. 3.

For the first time since Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art opened in 2011, its Early American Art Galleries have been renovated. These newly designed spaces, which have been closed since January, are open to the public today.

Developed by the Tate Modern in London, Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power highlights the contribution of black artists to an important period of American art and history. Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is one of only two U.S. venues to host the exhibit. The show, which features 164 works from 60 artists, is on view through April 23.

Victoria Marks is a Guggenheim Fellow and a professor of choreography at UCLA. Nov. 10 she'll be at Crystal Bridges Museum of American art to present Honoring Citizenship, which will feature performances intersected with short film works that question the place of the body in matters of heroism, valor, and truth.
