In Breaker/Fixer Production’s latest play a long-dead Confederate widow confronts her sins in a curious underworld, forcing the audience to reconsider notions and attitudes about violence of the old South that still resonate today.

  

Continuing our spotlight on Intersections NWA, a monthlong celebration of women in the arts, we visit with theatre company ArkansasStaged regarding two upcoming productions.

The plays, Natural Shocks by Lauren Gunderson and An Old Woman Speaks based on poems from Sue Coppernoll, feature solo performances from women April 20 and May 2 respectively. 

The Arts Center of the Ozarks in downtown Springdale has been a staple of the community for the last 50 years. The community organization provides arts classes for all ages, hosts theatrical performances and houses a gallery for local artists.

A play about addiction, that provides plenty of laughs, may be best known for a 12-letter word in the title, but the production is much more than that.

The final, fully-produced production of Theatre Squared's ninth season includes witty dialogue and an examination of a cross-generational friendship. Members of the cast and crew recently discussed the play at a forum inside the Walmart Museum in downtown Bentonville. The play opens this week in Fayetteville.
