The power and politics of fashion can transcend age, status, gender and more. How fashion interacts with us, and with culture, will be explored in a University of Arkansas Honors College Signature Seminar titled “Fashion, Identity and Power.” Eric Pritchard, associate professor and the Brown Chair in English Literacy, will lead the class. They joined Ozarks at Large Kyle Kellams to discuss the upcoming lectures.

Next spring, the University of Arkansas Honors College will offer a seminar simply titled “Gothic,” led by professors Lynda Coon, the Honors College dean and a historian, and Kim Sexton from the School of Architecture. There will also be a public preview lecture on Thursday evening at 5:15 p.m. Both professors were in the Anthony and Susan Hui News Studio last week.

An Honors College Signature Seminar next fall on the University of Arkansas campus will allow students to consider technology, its relationship with art and its relationship with us. Edmund Harris, assistant professor from the Department of Mathematical Sciences, will co-lead the course. He said he and his co-instructor, Professor Vincent Edwards from the School of Art, are looking forward to the class.

A University of Arkansas Honors College seminar next fall will explore the worlds of Star Trek and how the works have reflected the geopolitics of their time and their creators. Three University of Arkansas educators will lead an Honors College seminar, Ozark Culture, next spring. They came to the Carver Center for Public Radio recently to talk about the course and said having instructors from different disciplines lead the class about an evolving, complicated matter like Ozark culture is a benefit for students.
