KUAF Arts Beat: Talking Translation with the Arkansas International

An emphaisis on translation separates The Arkansas International from the hundreds upon hundreds of other literary journals out there.

Issue four of the official literary magazine from the University of Arkansas's Creative Writing and Translation program features writing in translation from 11 countries, as well as comics in translation.

"The great thing about working with The Arkansas International and even reading it is that I've learned so much about literary translation and the merits it has," remarks Bailey Hutchinson, the magazine's poetry editor.

Hear more from Hutchinson and Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Brock, who stopped by the KUAF studio earlier this year to discuss and read from issue four via this on-demand streaming link.

The Arkansas International hosts a benefit concert featuring Willi Carlisle at Stage Eighteen in downtown Fayetteville Friday, Sept. 14.
