The musical genius of Stephen Sondheim gets a new spin with pianist Anthony de Mare’s latest project, Liasons: Re-Imagining Sondheim from the Piano. De Mare’s concept was to commission 36 of today’s hottest composers from a variety of backgrounds, genres, and nationalities to choose a single piece by Sondheim and re-imagine it as a solo piece, and the results are astounding.
