While Vivaldi used the newly-popular oboe as a substitution for violin parts in concerti, Tomaso Albinoni preferred to take his inspiration from the human voice in an operatic aria. Albinoni considered these concerti as being 'with' the oboe, instead of 'for' oboe. Join us tonight from 8 to 10 p.m. to hear highlights from Albinoni's Oboe Concerti Op. 9.
