Bring the family, and a few canned goods to donate, to the Faulkner Performing Arts Center on Dec. 10  to see a free screening of the holiday favorite, Elf. 

Color is the theme for the University of Arkansas' Arkansas New Music Ensemble winter concert tonight at the Faulkner Performing Arts Center.  

The Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (SoNA) presents a series of Christmas concerts Dec. 3 and 4 to open their 2016-2017 season at the newly renovated Walton Arts Center. Music Director Paul Haas describes these concerts as a place where we can all come together and celebrate humanity.

"For me it's one of my favorite concerts of the year," he tells Katy Henriksen. "There's a feeling of community." 

Yevgeny Kutik, a Russian-American violinist praised for his technical precision and virtuosity, has a new release called Words Fail, which begins with selections from Felix Mendelssohn's "Songs Without Words."

"I kind of whittled down my favorites," Kutik explains to Katy Henriksen. This work with Mendelssohn helped Kutik to learn more about "the ability of music to communicate far better than words." Listen to the interview in its entirety right here. 

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was an incredibly prolific composer, with more than 600 works to his name. Mozart's final composition, Requiem, was commissioned as a mass by the Count Franz von Walsegg, but was left partially unfinished after Mozart's death. Worried about her financial future, Mozart's widow Constanze set about finding composers to secretly finish the piece.
