The University of Arkansas Police Department has dedicated its recently upgraded conference room in memory of Lawrence J. “Larry” Slamons, the first director of UAPD. Friends and family members who gathered at yesterday's ceremony shared memories of Slamons who retired from UAPD in 2007 and died last year.
