Of Note for Friday, August 8: Storybook Strings

Your browser doesn’t support HTML5 audio

Elizabeth Lyon, who serves as concertmaster for the Fort Smith Symphony, came up with the idea for Storybook Strings after singing her young son lullabies. She took a simple idea -- place storybooks to music -- and made it into a unique performance ensemble that plays frequently in the KUAF listening area. The string quartet plus narrator and vocal percussionist stop in to the Firmin-Garner Performance studio to elaborate on their unique group and play from their repertoire in Friday's Of Note with Katy Henriksen
