Same Country, Very Different Styles: Rozsa & Dohnanyi Kick Off Chamber Fest

The composers Miklos Rozsa and Erno Dohnanyi will be featured in the first KUAF Fulbright Chamber concert of the 2016 season this Thursday night at the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall. Although both Hungarian, their styles are drastically different.

"I get the feeling that if they were living, working and collaborating at the same time they probably wouldn't have been great friends," explains festival musician Ryan Cockerham. "Whereas Rozsa really borrows from this sort of new Hungarian sound that Bartok was pushing forth ... Dohnanyi was very much a classicist."
