The National Institutes of Health has awarded a five-year, $1.7 million grant to an assistant professor of biomedical engineering at the University of Arkansas. Kyle Quinn will use the grant to develop ways to predict age-related delays in skin wound healing. Non-healing wounds can be a health concern for older adults and the natural aging process can contribute to problems in healing. Quinn previously researched impaired healing in diabetic wounds.
