Using Fruit Flies As Model For Human Genetics

One University of Arkansas researcher recently received a grant from the National Institute of Health to study a particular gene that could possibly be used to regenerate connections between nerves in the human body. The research is being carried out on another organism that contains the same gene: the common fruit fly.
