When this summer's KUAF Fulbright Chamber Music Festival concludes Friday at the Great Hall of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art Ryan Cockerham's composition "Front to Back," dedicated to retiring music professor Stephen Gates, will be given a world premiere.
When Cockerham began composing the work he asked Gates for favorite works, which include the Bach unaccompanied cello suites. The new work quotes from Bach's cello suite no. 1 as well as other pieces. Tune in to Wednesday's program to hear the entirety of this piece performed by Zuill Bailey.
