New Workforce Initiative Aims to Fight Poverty Through City Hiring

Fort Smith City Director Keith Lau has recommended a new workforce initiative that would create a partnership between city hiring and organizations that help residents living in poverty. Lau says the city employs about a 1,000 people and some of those positions can be earmarked for residents seeking higher paying jobs.
