Fort Smith Board Passes Shelter Contract & Animal Licensing Ordinance

This week, the Fort Smith City Board of Directors approved a contract with Kitties and Kanines Shelter to provide animal impoundment services after the city and HOPE Humane Society could not reach an agreement. The Board also passed an animal licensing ordinance that will require owners to register their cats and dogs for a fee.
