"His complexities don't always add up, but when they do, a richness of experience is suggested that is unobtainable in any other way," wrote Aaron Copeland about Charles Ives.

American composer Ives, who made his living in insurance is described simultaneously as a traditionalist, a modernist, nostalgic and futuristic.  There's no doubt he was an American original. We continue the #SundaySymphony tradition with his Symphony No. 4 and Symphony No. 3, "The Camp Meeting" in a new recording by the Seattle Symphony. Tune in for these full symphonies and more in today's program from 8 to 10 p.m. here on KUAF.
