Buffalo River Dumpsite and Roadside Cleanup

Buffalo River Dumpsite and Roadside Cleanup

The Cooperative Extension Service is seeking volunteers to assist with a water quality improvement opportunity and milestone of the Buffalo River Watershed Management Plan on February 21st, from 9:00 a.m. until Noon at Rio Buffalo Outfitters on 10039 AR 74-W in the community of Low Gap.

The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service is working with Newton County, Rio Buffalo Outfitters, landowners and the Arkansas Watershed Steward Program to conduct an illegal dumpsite cleanup in Low Gap, Arkansas. The litter removed will become a part of a Buffalo River Trash Index and audit as called for the Buffalo River Watershed Management Plan. Volunteers will be provided with the necessary cleanup supplies and are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and getting a little dirty. For more information on water quality, watersheds, Arkansas Watershed Stewards Program, the Buffalo River Roadside and Dumpsite Cleanup or the Buffalo River Watershed Regional Conservation Program, contact John Pennington @870-329-7009 or jhpennington@uada.edu.
