Discover one of the Ozarks’
most breathtaking hidden gems on this rugged
journey into the Sweden Creek Falls Natural Area. Tucked deep within the Boston Mountains and protected by the Arkansas Natural
Heritage Commission, this landscape features
sweeping glades, towering bluffs, deep gulches, hardwood forests, and one of Arkansas’s
most impressive waterfalls. An ANHC representative will join us to share expert insights into
the ecology, geology, and natural history of this
remarkable area.
This 3.5-mile trek explores two trails, giving hikers vantage points both above and below the
81-foot Sweden Creek Falls. The route includes
steep, uneven terrain, creek crossings, and a
challenging descent beneath the falls. This hike
is recommended only for experienced, physically active hikers with good balance, sturdy
footwear, and a hiking pole.
