The newly designated Butterfield National Historic Trail involves more than 300 miles of Arkansas roads from the Missouri state line to Fort Smith, and from Fort Smith to Memphis. Dr. Bob Crossman, author of six books on the Butterfield National Historic Trail will introduce each of the two dozen Butterfield stations, along with first-person accounts of riding the Butterfield stagecoaches 165 years ago. Immerse yourself in this 25-day journey, traveling day and night almost non-stop, from NW Arkansas to the gold fields of California.
