Opera is an art that tells a dramatic story through live music and singing. But what goes into an opera production? How does an opera company choose what to present and how do they find the people to do it? Find out in this talk with Nancy Preis, general Director of Opera in the Ozarks. Nancy will also share a bit of history of Opera in the Ozarks (OIO) as well as its plans for the future. Now, after 73 years, OIO is embarking on an ambitious renewal of their campus and broadening their mission to become a regional center for lifelong learning involving music and allied arts. A brief introduction to the 2024 season will be included.
