Osher Lifelong Learning Institute-Hike at White Rock Mountain
Experience nature, adventure, and amazing vistas on this hike along the
Rim Trail at White Rock Mountain. Rising 2,309
feet above sea level, White Rock Mountain is the
hub of several trail systems offering hundreds
of miles of trails to explore. The Rim Trail is a
1.9-mile loop that runs along the edge of the
mountain top’s bluff line, boasting 365-degree
views of the Ozark National Forest. The hike will
conclude at Sunset Shelter, on the west side of
the mountain, to take in a picturesque sunset!
The trip to White Rock Moutain is a stretch, so
expect a full day of travel. Note that the Rim
Trail traverses along steep bluffs and is not for
those with a fear of heights.
