Purpose: Learn to sew while giving back to the community
Who it's for: Beginners and experienced sewists alike — anyone with a heart for helping
What it is: A hands-on sewing workshop focused on creating simple, useful items that are donated to local nonprofits and individuals in need
What to Expect
Friendly, beginner-focused instruction in a supportive environment
Guided projects like quilt blocks, tote bags, and other essentials
All materials provided — no need to bring anything unless you want to
A chance to build sewing skills while making a meaningful impact
All finished items donated through LODCH to benefit the community
A welcoming space to connect, create, and contribute
What to Bring (if you have them)
A sewing machine (with foot pedal and power cord)
Extra fabric suitable for beginner projects (like cotton or flannel)
Thread in coordinating or neutral colors
Basic notions: pins, scissors, seam ripper, measuring tape, etc.
Don’t have supplies? No worries! We provide materials and have extra machines available. Just bring your willingness to learn and a heart to give back.
