Sweet, Spicy and Hot--Chocolate

Sweet, Spicy and Hot--Chocolate

When Hernán Cortés arrived in what is now Mexico in 1520, he found the people of the great cities of the central valley drinking a luxurious, luscious hot drink they called chicolatl. Today, five hundred years later, hot chocolate is a worldwide favorite. Join us at Ozark Folkways as David Lee Holcomb shows us how to make a shelf-stable powdered hot chocolate mix from ordinary supermarket ingredients. We'll experiment with special flavors and talk about options for vegans and people with special dietary restrictions. Workshop fee of $15 includes samples of each flavor mix to take home.
