Giving Tree 2021 benefitting Peace at Home Shelter and Magdalene Serenity House

For over a decade, KUAF's Giving Tree has benefited dozens of non profit groups that need our help in our communities. But possibly more important than helping bring in donations of food, clothing, and supplies to these groups, the Giving Tree has raised awareness of so many issues in our area that need our attention. In this Season of Giving, we're highlighting the efforts of two organizations; Peace at Home Family Shelter and the Magdalene Serenty House. Peace at Home provides shelter, services, and support to adults and children fleeing domestic violence. Magdalene Serenity House helps to rebuild the lives of women who have experienced trauma, sexual exploitation, addiction, and incarceration. Throughout the month of December, we'll hear from both organizations and what they need from our community. The Giving Tree and KUAF Public Radio....Local Matters.

Magdalene Serenity House has two Amazon Wish Lists that can be accessed on their Facebook page. Or, drop off your donation under the Giving Tree at KUAF located at 9 South School in Fayetteville. Their needs include clothing and toiletries but also day-to-day items that anyone would need to begin a new life. Toilet paper, paper towels, clorox wipes, but most importantly...laundry detergent. That is one need that seems to always be lacking.

Peace at Home Family Shelter has much of the same needs which are fulfilled by its Santa Sack program. They are asking the community to purchase gift cards from stores that can offer a family multiple options of items (like Walmart, Target, etc.). But, if you're in the neighborhood, stop by here at KUAF and drop off your items...we'll make sure that P.H.F.S. get them.
