A brief overview of Arkansas housing laws, tenant rights

Arkansas is short of about 53,000 rental homes affordable and available for low-income tenants, according to the National Low Income Housing Coalition.

Over a third of Arkansans rent their homes, and Northwest Arkansas lacks affordable and available housing. Although there is a fair amount of reporting on Arkansas landlord-tenant laws, not everyone knows the extent of their rights. Ozarks at Large’s Anna Pope spoke with a few housing experts to talk about unique Arkansas laws, how they impact tenants and renter rights.
