Senator Cotton And Governor Hutchinson To Speak At Republican National Convention

Two of Arkansas' top Republicans are expected to have prime-time speaking slots at their party's national convention in Cleveland next week.

Gov.AsaHutchinson told reporters Wednesday that he expects to speak Tuesday night at the convention. Hutchinson declined to say what he'll talk about during his address to delegates. U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton's office said the freshman lawmaker was expected to speak to delegates Monday night.

Presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump won Arkansas' presidential primary in March. Republicans hold all of Arkansas' statewide and federal offices.

Hutchinson, who was first elected in 2014, said he also planned to speak to other state delegations. He said his goal is to help shape the debate and to tout Arkansas' successes while he's at the convention.
