State Rep. Fran Cavenaugh, R-Walnut Ridge, will seek re-election to state House District 60. Cavenaugh was first elected in 2016 and is in her second term representing the district, which includes portions of Lawrence, Randolph, Sharp, and Greene counties.

“It has been a privilege and honor to serve the people of district 60. Since the beginning of my campaign in 2015, I have promised to fight for the people of our great state, and I plan to continue delivering on that promise,” Cavenaugh said. “We’ve made progress, but we still have much work to do. I want to continue that by working for the people of District 60 and all of Arkansas.”

During her time as state representative, Cavenaugh voted to pass the second largest tax cut in Arkansas history, which resulted in a $50 million tax cut for low-income Arkansans.

“I believe we have to keep Arkansas moving forward by limiting big government, improving education and training opportunities and creating an environment for businesses to be successful,” added Cavenaugh.

Cavenaugh serves as chairperson of the Joint Budget Committee on Claims and the chairperson of the House City, County & Local Affairs – House Finance Subcommittee. She also serves on the Joint Committee on Advanced Communications & Information Technology, the House Education Committee, and the House City, County & Local Affairs Committee.

Cavenaugh is president of The Children’s Shelter of Northeast Arkansas and serves on the Lawrence Memorial Hospital board. She is the chief financial officer of Cavenaugh Auto Group and lives in Walnut Ridge with her husband, Donald.
