BTH: Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris on Crime and COVID-19

Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris says that recurring offenses are among the biggest issues facing the local judicial system. The county's plan to end the revolving door of the court system is multifaceted and includes interventions, positively ramping up law enforcement, and making sure ex-convicts can have an easy transition back to society.

Harris joins WKNO-TV for this week's Behind the Headlines with host Eric Barnes and Daily Memphian reporter Bill Dries. Harris discusses the county's efforts to decrease the local crime rate, in addition to changes in the distributions of vaccines in Shelby County.
