Art Ventures Pairs Paintings With a Play at TheatreSquared

Art Ventures Pairs Paintings With a Play at TheatreSquared

In conjunction with TheatreSquared’s newest play, Miss You Like Hell, Art Ventures has placed a visual art exhibition in the TheatreSquared lobby and the Commons Bar/Café. This unique collaboration offers patrons the opportunity to experience how different mediums of artistic expression are in conversation with one another and add layers of depth to the themes of the production.
Miss You Like Hell follows a mother-daughter duo through a road trip across a changing America and delves into the wealth of humor, mystery, and gravity at the center of their relationship. With this production, Art Ventures paired paintings by Lourdes Valverde and Andrea Carrillo, two exceptional visual artists from Mexico who also happen to be a mother and daughter.
Don’t miss this delightful exhibition, which will be open to the public from June 1 to July 11, 2022. Visitors are encouraged to see it in conjunction with the production of Miss You Like Hell, but the artwork will also be visible at the Commons Bar/Café Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm.
About Lourdes Valverde: María de Lourdes Valverde Galindo was born in México as the only girl in a family with six brothers. Her passion for art began in middle school as her teacher assigned illustrating stories as part of the reading lesson. Although she had always been passionate about the arts, her parents advised her to pursue a career in engineering. As an adult, she has traveled now to live in Bentonville, Arkansas, and found a renewed sense of self as an artist and is pursuing learning and doing all she can to hone her skills and promote arts in her new community.
About Andrea Carrillo: Andrea Carrillo was born in Nuevo León, Mexico in 2001 and is currently a junior at the Kansas City Art Institute. During the off-season, she resides in Bentonville, Arkansas with her parents. Her works are recognized as rich and inspirational, while her instructors have noted her linework for its expressiveness. Her raw talent underlies an auspicious future in the art world. Andrea enjoys experimenting with various mediums such as acrylic, oil, printmaking, and mixed media. She has won several awards in both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional work from the Arkansas Young Artist Association while in High School. Carrillo is the youngest artist exhibited professionally by Art Ventures Gallery.
About Art Ventures: Art Ventures promotes the visual arts in Northwest Arkansas by actively collaborating with the community, supporting artists working to the highest standards, encouraging education and public engagement in the arts, and providing accessibility to under-represented communities.
