Food As Medicine -- An Introduction to the Power of Lifestyle Medicine to Heal

Food As Medicine -- An Introduction to the Power of Lifestyle Medicine to Heal

Dr. Cynthia Morgan, Founder and Executive Medical Director of the Ozark Center for Lifestyle Medicine and Karen Gros, Founder of Karen Gros Wellness Cooking School and Travel and Associate Director of Education at the Ozark Center for Lifestyle Medicine, will introduce participants to the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine, namely:

Quality nutrition
Physical activity
Stress management
Restorative sleep
Positive relationships
Avoidance of risky substances

While we will touch on all six pillars, we will emphasize the role of food as medicine, and will provide a wide variety of beautiful colorful dishes for participants to taste and see how incredibly delicious healthy food can be!

Lifestyle Medicine offers an evidence-based, practical, and therapeutic approach to managing, preventing, and even reversing chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

This presentation is for all ages. The younger you are when you embrace the power of Lifestyle Medicine, the more you have to gain! But starting at any age, you can increase your quality of life by reducing your reliance on prescription medications and often live a vibrant healthy life into your 80s and 90s!
